Tape is a great medium to shoot in but a poor one to store in. Tape heads wear on the tape during every viewing and chemical processes are at work destroying your tape even while it sits on a shelf. Tapes as little as 10 years old could be in serious jeopardy from wear, disintegration, and magnetic fields. A DVD, on the other hand, should last 100 years if properly cared for. And the image is as good on the 100th year as it is the first time you watch it.
This is one of the most common concerns. Too many people have experienced aggressive and annoying videographers at weddings. This is unfortunate because it does not have to be that way. We take pride in our discreet style. Feedback from our satisfied clients runs the common thread: "We hardly noticed that you were there" is a praise that we often get. We are the proverbial "fly on the wall" capturing your wedding as if through the eyes of an unseen guest.
There is always a trade-off between the annoyance of a video light and the technical quality of the video produced. Yes, our camera crews do use video lights, but we also have invested in the industry's best performing low light 3 chip cameras. They will produce superior video quality under natural light conditions. We never add lights during the wedding ceremony, and we use lights discreetly during the reception. Our new Broadcast cameras are even more sensitive to light than the human eye, allowing us to use very little lighting
We have an excellent working relationship with our photographer friends. In fact, many of our referrals come from them. With over 11 years in business and hundreds of wedding events behind us, we can say that we've worked with more photographers than anyone else. We recognize that we are both professionals with a job to do, and therefore give the photographers the space they need to do their work. Professional courtesy is always exercised. We have a list of highly recommended photographers whose work has been praised by our clients, and with whom we've developed an excellent working rapport.
Our goal is to produce a video that is long enough to cover everything that is important, yet not so long that it becomes boring to watch. Multiple cameras add excitement to the editing process adding different points of view without being obtrusive. They range from 1.5 Hours to 3 hours long, depending on the activities at your event.
This depends on the time of year and your timeliness in delivering needed materials to complete the video. Weddings are very seasonal, with 80% of the weddings occurring in May through October. We begin the wedding "season" all caught up on our editing, but as the summer progresses, we can not edit the weddings at the same pace that they are being taped. Our backlog therefore grows as the summer progresses. When all of your photos, music decisions, and other ingredients to complete the video are turned in, you can expect a 6 to 8 week completion date. More time may be needed in peek seasons.
